Two days ago, I woke up just like any other day got on to my computer to check my email and facebook.
Doing the noraml "Plug in"
I howevor was stoped cold this day by a post on facebook.
One of my firends posed a note, it was a suicide note, He had killed him self an houre before I woke up.
He was my physiological mentor, he helped me build bridges in thought and ideas that rivaled the heavens.
To say the least Im not devastated but I am vary upset. He shot him self in the ally behind his home. He was trying to get help, he had been seeing a therapist as well as digging in to friends for help as well. it seemed like it just wasent enough.
Coming from this point of view as someone who once had multiple plans as well as a will to end his life. I understand Just what he was going threw.
It puts a new spin on your life coming from the outside now. Being happy with how my life has turned out and growing in strength to become my own person. Its unnerving to think that life is so short and simple. In a second, someone can be gone, put in to the earth.
Life is something like a vase, we look at it, love it, it holds water and things so beautiful. However with a little force it can fall from its place and cash on to the ground just to be swept up and put in to the trash.
I shared this with him when we first met:

Aurther is such an amazing mind, Im happy he wrote this so I may pass it to you reader. Im happy he did this so I may have the means to explain what My friend felt.
He is never forgotten, He will NEVER be forgotten.

Nietzsche, The original Ass kicking Punk Thinker
We often refuse to accept an idea merely because the tone of voice in which it has been expressed is unsympathetic to us.
-Friedrich Nietzsche
I have just finished All Nietzsche works. (More less beyond good and evil as well as thus spoke zer/)
Nietzsches gets way to hard a rep when it comes to what he thought.
All he said was that we relly to much on the morality of faith. But with his famus words "god is dead" showed us that we dont even need a god to be good, to love are selfs.
what we do need is a middle finger and a will to live. Nietzsches is probly one of the most therputice thinkers I have read behind sartra and Schopenhauer.
I hope to read more of his less known stuff like "the will to power" (just his notes put in to a book)

The stick in the water
So I have been reading lots of works mainly on what "being" is.
Platos allegory of the cave is what im talking about (as small time easy philosophy that is) when I talk about "being."
Its an interesting question. the argument is that are minds fuck with what ever we see before we can "truly" see it.
Just as a stick in water looks bent, we know it is know. We know that it looks bent due to light refraction. This is interesting. Im still not sure I would subscribe to it, but this is what makes thinking so amazing. Disagreeing just leeds to the question of Why you disagree and thus a new way of looking at things and thus again a new philosophy.
In none deep thinking new.
Just took my international law midterm and damn was that hard. I feel I did alright but it was a challenge, lots of questions and little time to do it.
over all this week is much better

Existentialism Part 1
There is No single definition of existentialism nor nihilism. Existentialism is an Idea that only ones who have studied the thinkers of it could truly understand everything about it. To explain it is a task that I cannot do justice to. However I can give a base foundation on what it meens to be an existentialist and more so a nihilist.
Context:
In short Existentialism Is the philosophy that life has no set meaning. There is no purpose; This means that there is no god (atheists), that there is no set goal for humanity.
Existentialism challenges everyone who understands this to create their own purpose and world. That we have to give are lives meaning.
Nihilism is the over arching Brand. Existentialism is a sub category of Nihilism.
Nihilism is the idea that nothing in life has any kind of intrinsic value. It's sometimes understood in the belief that nothing matters.
Why I put the two together is to highlight the stance of no intrinsic value. That it is my duty to make my life matter and to be moral; nothing can make my life matter except for what I want to make it matter. Things happen to me but I am only the actor and pick how to react to the things that happen to me. I give events meaning, not the other way around.
The thinkers:
Philosophies history pegs the idea of existentialism start wit:
Søren Kierkegaard (Danish). He made the argument that we cannot halt the individual from his freedom to do as he/she will. He didn't talk or name the idea of existentialism but he did set the ground works.
Arthur Schopenhauer would be the next. He did not coin the idea nor even talk about the ideas of existentialism. However he did set the world for latter thinkers to create the idea and build on it.
Friedrich Nietzsche is the most known thinker for existentialism and created the true ground work of thinking for one's self and being one's own thinker.
Jean-Paul Sartre Is the last and most current thinker (he died in 1980) and is the most know thinkers on this idea to date. He fully filled out what existentialism is and how one lives a life like this.
Livening morally:
Some make the argument that if nothing matters then were do morals come from. This is where I like to highlight Existentialism not the nihilism. Sartre did a very good work on this called "existentialism is a humanism" he argued that it is our goal to live moral lives as to understand what is right and wrong based on values. For instance it is wrong to kill because I harm the life and liberty of that person to be them self's and to live there life as they want. Just as I don't want to die nor do others. Society could have been created differently and different morals would have rooted them self's in are life.
Morality is in effect a social thing. We act based on are ego and the relationships to law and others worlds. But the existentialist denies changing ones self for others. To change for others or to change based on social norms is an abomination. One simply should change ones acts as to live in a sociaty but not to change their ideas or minds.
AS I SAID, ONE MUST READ THE WORKS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING.
This is just the basics of what it means to be an existential nihilist.
